When performing a measurement, accuracy is key. While there are multiple methods to determine the biogenic/fossil CO2 emissions, the 14Credits method uses the most reliable method. The following table shows an estimation of the measurement uncertainties, which is based on the input of various parties.

As the table shows, the most reliable method is based on output (stack gas) sampling combined with carbon dating. The second best method is based on a proportional output sampling combined with carbon dating. According to the upcoming ISO TC 146 13833, proportional stack gas sampling is required if overall changes in stack gas flow rates exceed a relative standard deviation (2RSD) of 55 %. Many installations (e.g. waste-to-energy) have stack gas flows that exceed this deviation, and as such require proportional sampling. Our sampler can operate in both settings; it can sample continuously and it is the only device with proportional sampling capability.
